Hello everyone, I am currently working on a 2.7l turbo max engine and am looking for guidance in regards to setting timing. I have replaced both cams, actuators, lifters, and rocker arms. As I looked through all data info it states to line up the timing marks but there aren’t any obvious marks anywhere. The actuators get aligned with a tool and have marks but no real place to align them to. I need to know where to place the two yellow links on the chain. The crank sprocket has two dots but there seems to be a lack of info for this engine. Thanks for your help.

THIS ENGINE IS TIMED USING TOOLS TO HOLD THE CAMS AND CRANK IN THE CORRECT POSITION. MARKS ON THE CHAIN DO NOT MATTER SINCE THE CORRELATION OF THE CAMS AND CRANK ARE SET BY THE SPECIAL TOOLS.

Thanks for your help, that is what I figured just wanted to confirm. Alldata provides minimal guidance as does the ACdelco website. I have timed many engines but never one that simply uses tools and no marks.

IT IS NOT IDEAL FOR A NON DEALER TECH. IM SURE THE TOOLS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE
