Vw mib main-unit vw golf 5G0035043D update problem

1
Hi everyone,
I’m having some serious issues with a head unit and I'm looking for some guidance. The customer tried to update the software, and the radio ended up in this state.
The symptoms:
  • Navigation is not working.
  • Bluetooth is not working.
  • In the "System Information" menu, the Part Number, Hardware version, Navigation Database, and Media Codecs all show as N/A.
Diagnostic info (VCP): When I connect with VCP, I cannot read the part number or the current coding. I have no access to coding, basic settings, or even the fault codes (DTCs).
What I've tried: I already tried to load new software to recover it, but it always fails with a "metainfo" error.
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a way to bypass this error or force an emergency recovery, or is the unit completely bricked?
Thanks in advance!

Your going to have to connect directly to the unit using rs232 most likely. It's not a simple procedure to recover the unit but it most likely can be recovered if it's still booting.

5G0035043D is the part number I see for this car if anyone is looking since you didn't post it in your original post. MIB1.
