AllData 10.50 Full Complete - Dlink Jumbofiles High Speed (Chapter I)

10
Hi I'm a newbie but I have a little knowledge of how to install Alldata the best way. Please comment and let me know if I have left anything out or if you know a better way. Anyway, let's get to it. here's my way of installing it:
INSTALL STEPS for alldata 10.50:

1) Disconnect from the Internet (Either Disable the network card, or just pull the plug temporarily.).
2) Run the Alldata Installer. When it asks for you to plug in the hasp ctl alt delete to open task manager and end the alldata install process.
3) Right click on "My Computer" and choose "MANAGE", Then go to SERVICES, and look for HASP in the right hand side.
Right click on the HASP Service and choose STOP.
4) Now run the "Software REmover.exe" (This is the FlexNet Remover which will keep it from calling home.).
5) Add these DNS entries to your host file( go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and drag the host file to your desktop and open it with notepad, then cut and paste the entries below into it. When done drag it back to the folder you got it from and close the window.

127.0.0.1 marcomm.alldata.com #ALLDATA
127.0.0.1 169.198.203.194 #ALLDATA
127.0.0.1 198.71.66.53 #FLEXNET
127.0.0.1 64.14.29.251 #FLEXNET
127.0.0.1 199.7.48.190 #FLEXNET

6) Open control panel/system and security/windows firewall click allow a program or feature through firewall then click change settings and uncheck HASP LLM
(optional) I always add add alldata disk copy, ishop configuration,ishop test client, alldata repair, and alldata software updates to the firewall and then uncheck them. This maybe overkill but I think it is best. You can also make Ace.exe read only.

7) Your alldata install should be isolated from all contact with the network now so you can enable your NIC or plug the ethernet cable back in now.

8) Download all of the data disks and a copy of ultra iso. Make another directory called ALLDATAData (Open my computer and click on C: the place your new directory there).Then go into your new directory and make 10 empty folders named Domestic1 to Domestic10 and then make 37 empty folders named Import1 to Import37

9)Install Ultra ISO and close it.

10) Goto where you downloaded the data disk and right click on the first one (DM1Q311.isz) scroll down to ultraISO and click on extract to then click on C:/ALLDATAdata/Domestic1. Do this for all 10 domestic files and all 37 import files.

11) Before you open Alldata get a copy of ace.ini and copy and paste the following in it. Be sure to over write anything that is already under the heading device window. ( Note: If you want to put all the data on a different disk just go down the list and change the "c" to the letter of the drive you have the data on.

[DeviceWindow]
Device_1=c:\ALLDATAData/Domestic1\,0

Device_45=c:\ALLDATAData/Import36\,0
Device_46=c:\ALLDATAData/Import37\,0
Device_47=c:\ALLDATAData/Domestic10\,0

12) Now youre done and you can use the shortcut to open alldata and if you did it right you will never have to put in a disk.

13) You can also share the data on a network and install on mutiple computers just map the network share and edit ace.ini and change the letter c to the letter of the mapped network drive do this to the annotation and estimate entries also if you plan to share estimate files with other installations. Now you have mutiple computers running off one data set.
