Autocom / Delphi CDP Pro manual flash update

1
Hi guys,
I've readed a lot of posts and I didn't found solution to solve my problem. I've got an autocom CDP PRO (gold) from my friend (and it was working excellent before) with SN: 3555 and I can't use it with autocom or delphi software - always when I try to test it app's showing info "vci device not found". I've tried with 2013.1 and 2013.3 and nothing happened (of course correct drivers are installed - tested on XP and Win 7 - no VM). Device is visible in Device Manager as VCI - so it's correct. I've tried to read Serial number but without effects (probably because on the sticker is 3555 serial nuber and that software read only 5 digit numbers) http://oi40.tinypic.com/2nue7n.jpg . I've tried to install it with 3555 and 30250 serial number and without effect. I read somewhere that necessarly might be an update interface software but there is a problem - Is it possible to go to bootloader with Infineon SAK-C167CS-LM memory? You guys gave only instruction to STM32 memory so I don't know that's the same as SAK-C167 (probably not - that's why I'm asking). Could you can give me an advice how can I flash that microcontroller or maybe it could be another fail?

There are datasheets:

Hi again!
Today we've checked and fixed cold solders and tried to have got a output signal from interface (after sending signal from PC) - finaly we've got it (maybe after the 50th attempt). Then, when we received a TRUE serial number by Realterm program (by the command "readserial" - the output was 30252) and autocom we tested interface with that serial with success. We disabled a power from OBD II pin and tried 2 times with successful result (in a short period of time) . Then we were waiting +-5 minutes and we couldn't connect again (in Realterm we've got only output signal (TXD)- no input (RXD)), but after a lot of tries of switching power on/off we've got a return signal from interface again but after switching power off we couldn't connect again (no return signal from interface). I don't know what can be wrong - maybe one of reed relays or the main memory (SAK-C167CS). Maybe someone know and could give me advice what could I test/check on that PCB?

PS: Kurotomi: USB slot and cable is OK.
PS2: I've forgot. I've updated a firmware to 2013.1 by autocom app when I've got a sucessful try of connection so it can't be an "error" made by firmware (that as I suspected before).

WooW!
Thanks for that help - I was waiting for that advice Fing20!
But serious: when have you got a flat tire then you buy a new car or you try to fix a tire or just replace it for a new one? That's the same with interfaces because sometimes you have to replace a reed relay worht a few pennies to repair. Maybe in this case is that same.

Depends on how much of your time (+ tools and repair equipment) does it take to fix it vs. buy a new one. A new interface from china is ~64USD + shipping.
Now I don't know how much you value and charge for your time, but you always have to take that into account. I'm all for fixing and reusing stuff, but if you don't have the correct expertise (and ofcourse is even possible) to do it in a reasonable amount of time... then you're just wasting your time and money (and usually hair too Big Grin).
Nobody wants to harm you, but we have probably all been there. And after a while you learn where's the cost efficient to just buy new stuff vs. fix it.
I usually do and write stupid shit, but if I helped you please take a second and leave a positive rep and/or thanks.

Thanks for Your help!

Go to Device manager and click right button on drivers of autocom and press uninstall. Restart computer, plug autocom install drivers and go to firmware update on autocom (on right serial number). Oldest model of your interface has sn: 30250 but newest has sn: 20418. If this not help you, usually problem is on cold iron on flash - get some flux and try to repair this.
