BMW F30 2015 N20 ActiveFlex – No start

1
Hello everyone,

I’m trying to resolve a no-start condition on my BMW F30 320i 2015 with the N20 ActiveFlex engine.

The issue began after an electrical short in the vehicle. Following this, I replaced the EKPM (used, but confirmed functional) and installed a brand new low pressure fuel pump.

Initially, the EKPM showed fault 481B28 – EKPS not coded for the vehicle. I performed VO coding using BimmerUtility several times, and the fault persisted. After repeated CAFD reassignment and coding attempts, the EKPM was finally accepted and the 481B28 fault disappeared.

However, the engine still does not start. The current fault is 481B05 – fuel pump: no pump speed.

The engine cranks normally, but the pump does not appear to run. During cranking, I measured voltage at the pump connector and there is normal voltage present on phases A, B, and C, which indicates the EKPM is sending power output.

Has anyone experienced fault 481B05 under similar circumstances, especially after EKPM replacement? Is there any additional initialization, synchronization, or diagnostic procedure required?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
