To Read/Write via OBD with KESS you don't need extra power supply. It comes from the vehicle.
I use 14.5V / 40Amp MeanWell charger with adjustable output (12-15V) set @ 14.5V. Works like a champ as sometimes Write takes an hour!

For on Bench K-TAG you can use any stabilized power supply 12V / 2Amp or more. I use the one on the pic's with a small 12v/7AH battery connected to it to take any ripple off and in case of power outage during Write. If you do trucks, you will need an 24V PS!!! KTAG has 12/24v input for this.

Good luck.TM
