GM MDI having a hard time to connect

I have a clone MDI... Yes I know... 

I paid for one of the more expensive ones from *liexress 

I have installed the software on on two different machines, and connected it to an older global TIS with GDS1, I'm having the same issue, I have neither the connect or disconnect option available and I can't proceed any further with this. The drivers have been installed for it as windows recognises the MDI and I have connected the OBD port, still same problem. 

Please see below, is this a faulty MDI or I'm doing something wrong here?

GM MDI need update firmware.

You can update GM MDI  are as below.

1. Start MDI manager software on PC.
2.Disconnect  Power OBD2 port and USB cable.
3.Hold button key GM MDI and insert power OBD2 GM MDI.
4.Wait a second LED GM MDI status blink one time .
5.Connect USB wait for "Recovery" apear on the button MDI manager.
6.Update firmware and enjoy for this
