Hi, I have an Opel Insignia and im wondering what do i need to code the HMI module and ECU etc with SPS and the like. I have an OBD2 to ethernet cable but when I search VCI it has USB rather than ethernet at the other end. I also have a MUCAR BT200 with a diagzone subscription, I'm assuming that's no good? Any help would be greatly appreciated and any pointers on tutorials to get started also appreciated.

You need a MDI2 or a J22534-2 compatible, the old MDI doesn't work anymore with SPS online, the old autel Maxyflash sometimes work sometimes doesn't, the newer RP1210 (the blue one) and the MVCI (the one with scope) work fine, the Snap-On passthru pro (rebranded cardaq) works but sometimes it gets very slow. The MDI2 that you'll find around are all clones and don't support DoIP (even when they say they do!) If you're thinking in buying a passthru get the autel RP1210 IMHO is the best price/ quality you can get.
One thing that I would like to clear for you is that SPS won't allow to do "custom" coding, meaning adding or removing features. If you install an HMI from a car with camera for example it will be removed if your VIN doesn't have it. You can upgrade your HMI from 2.0 to 2.5 to have carplay though.

Every solution breeds 2 new problems.
