If I have this list, which one is the utility file? I can't seem to find out how to figure that out. Thank you

How to identify Utility File needed for SPS Archive Creator

Hi, the utility file ID is not on the SPS info form , there is no need for the dealer to know that. After you flash a ecu if you go to the sps cache folder you will see all the SPS file ID that are on that info form , plus you will see at least 1 more file , a small file usually, sometime more than 1 file that could be xml, dll, required to flash or complete the update process.

I have all of the bin files, but I'm trying to create a DPS Archive, and in order to do that you have to create a Template File .DTM. For the Template File it says you should include the utility file at the top before added the rest of the calibration files (.bin files). I can't find out where the utility file is though. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how to create a DPS Archive?
Say for instance I just want to push the OS and Indicators to the IPC
84255070 - OS
23236210 - Indicators

Yes you have collected the calibration files but you need the utility file and you can only get that from actually programming on SPS or if someone has it and gives it to you.
So when you actually program on SPS it downloads to your computer all the calibration files + one extra file which is the utility file.
Therefore if you haven't actually done the programming through SPS then you will not have the utility file and cannot make the archive!
If you have ever given me a Negative or Neutral reputation then do not ask me for help or passwords as you will be ignored!

If the SPS form show 8 files your DTM template is 8, you will see DPS asking to input file ID from file 0 (the utility file) to file 8
Not all ecu allows partial download, and if you use the gm Utility file , it will look to download 8 files , there is a menu to bypass that in DPS , use when you know what you're doing.

Where is the utility file usually stored? I did do the programming on SPS, but I swear I copied everything out of the cache directory...hmm
How do you bypass needing the utility file? :S
I think I found it - spsDebug folder theres a log

It is always with the other bin files and it generally is also a bin file.
When programming on SPS they give you an option to save to PDF which you should do as it lists the files in numerical order that they need to go into the DPS archive and the utility file will be the one whose number does NOT appear on the PDF so very easy to find as if it lists 8 files then there should have been 9 files in the cache and obviously the one not listed is the utility file.
Also do not forget if making the archive from the SPS cache manually you need to use 7zip to unpack every bin file to get a file that is usable in a DPS archive.

You don't BUT there is a way to only send what you want from the DPS archive that is not hard to work out but telling you when you are having this much trouble making an archive will not be helpful to you in the long run of learning how to use DPS

Well the utility file was the last piece of the puzzle, I wouldn't say I'm having "this much trouble". It's a simple step that I needed some guidance with. I know 20 different programming languages and developed websites for a living for a couple decades - but I'm not going to pretend to know everything about everything here. Especially when there's not very much solid info out there that isn't behind a giant paywall. Cut me some slack here while learning this process.
The archive was created, but it seems it has an error programming now. "Error Occurred During Programming"
Odd considering I'm programming the OS in the same order as the original log.
Left is archive contents in DPS. Right is original log from SPS with successful programming.
