Motorhome has 2012 (2010 EPA) MF10 engine. While working on electrical connections the band clamp for the centrifuge filter was accidentally loosened. When I started up the motorhome I went to the rear and could hear a “different noise”. Oil was leaking, too. I immediately shut down the engine and discovered the loose clamp. I tightened it, but there was still a small leak, so I removed the top cover, filter and O ring. Cleaned everything up and reinstalled the filter. No more leak, but not I can’t hear the filter “spinning down” when I shut down the engine. I used to always hear it.
I took everything back apart and made sure the upper and lower bearings were spinning freely. I checked the airline going into the bottom of the housing and it has pressure. It looks like a fairly simple system, I just don’t know why I can’t hear it spinning down anymore. Has anyone seen this problem before? I have a new filter, but it doesn’t seem like that would be the problem.
Thanks,
Dan
