From what I can see from the picture I suspect the device is a 3.3 volt regulator.
I believe the ic on the left is flash memory that requires a 3.3v power rail, also has two capacitors on either side of it. Looking at the size of the pcb tracks they would normally be too heavy for data signals (pcb designers won't use more copper than needed reduces profit margins).
Hope it helps but as I don't own a Lexia I can't confirm.
Any body got a faulty one they want to throw my way?

Yes, it is 3v3 regulator for supply serial eeprom chip and 3v3 side of level converter chip.
