Can those of you who are actively programming Benz BMW on bench provide your opinions on CGDI MB versus VVDI MB and what your go to is?. I currently use Key Tool Plus in the field and bench for Benz eis eis/emulator work but am wanting to spread out to eis and ecu cloning. Thanks

I only have CGDI MB, I bought the CGDI because of fast password calculation, typically calculates within 2-4 minutes! Ive done about 15 Mercs with it and never had issues, easy to use, Steering lock emulators from CG are also cheap and work great, if you are buying it, make sure to purchase a package with all adapters, they come in very handy! Even vito w906 old Lin transfer to new K line it makes it very easy incase of a faulty ignition, also purchase VVDI PROG for reading eep and mcu on bench, with these 2 tools you can go at nearly all Mercedes up until 2015
if youre not sure if you can do a specific Mercedes after 2015 just plug CG MB OBD and it will tell you

Hello, I use VVDI prog and MB Tool and so far I haven't had any problems. I think both tools are good.

I've done several 204's with emulator (removing the elv in locked position is a tough one) and would like to eventually look in to ecus's as well. Not many locksmiths are doing the benz's I guess due to the amount of work it takes to the the elv out but when I can charge market and I am the market I find it to be a pretty good return. Not sure what other work on these eis's or ecu's is out here but have been recommended the CGDI MB and the VVDI MB.(06-07-2026, 09:26 AM)blackcar92 Wrote: Can those of you who are actively programming Benz BMW on bench provide your opinions on CGDI MB versus VVDI MB and what your go to is?. Xhorse has the multi prog and I am looking at that but have been reviewing the mini prog and there seems to be good success with that and without having to desolder can save some time.
We don't have the vito w906 issue over here in U.S. but I think its pretty cool how there is a workaround.

What do you prefer to use with benz?

cgdi mb is a good tool for add key on mb with IR keys.
For AKL i use Launch x431 immo elite with xprog 3 (xtreme fast to get password for mb on akl) to get password and i program the key with cgdimb
Since i use vvdi keys and xprog 3 doesnt manage to read those keys.
For a Sprinter w906 it used around 10min on akl without taking out the EIS, all done with obd on the car.
With cgdimb you need to take out the eis and in and out with simulator key like 4times for each % up to 100%
But cgdimb is a xtreme good tool for MB keys. But do not try to renew K-line eis with cgdimb. that will fail.
