OPcom V1.64

1
Hi everyone, looking to draw upon your experience

Firstly please excuse me if this is in the wrong place, not sure if it is a hardware or software issue (or both) or even car issue.

I recently purchases a OPcom V1.64 clone, and i'm trying to assist my friend in diagnosing a problem with a Corsa D, however i have been getting some weird data when connecting to the ECU:- The motor type / hardware key no / prog date etc appear as FFFFFFFFFF for example (i'll attach screenshots soon), and when i have attempted to read live engine data i get a "ECU negative response" error. I can read the other modules such as ABS and Instrument cluster ok, just not the ECU. Is this something typical of the clone OPcom, and is there any solution? I have connected it to an Astra H and was able to read data ok.

Whats going through my mind is whether this issue is related to the OPcom or a hardware issue on the car (i.e. faulty ECU).
We are trying to diagnose a starting issue with the car after an engine change. My friend tells me this is the car's 3rd engine, so i'm wondering if there is an issue with the ECU which is causing the engine failures and wonky communication.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Is nothing wrong if your ecu, you are trapped in bad advertising that 1.64 is better. It's not, since the software is still the old one. You need hq clone.

LE: and why don't you ask the seller? What is his responsibility then? Just to grab some cash?

But is this actually going to cause any problems with different firmware.
It was actually an older software that come with the interface, and a member here helped me upgrade to the 2012 version.

I've not had another chance to reconnect to this vehicle for a while now.
However i've had it connected to a Astra-H and Corsa-C with no major problems, just the odd Prog date showing FFFFFFFFF.
One other issue i found when attempting to Backup the Instrument cluster EEPROM on a Corsa C, was that it reads to 100% and then crashes the software before i can save the file.

The software you are use can work with fw 1.59 last. The firmware version 1.64 use Opcom Prof 150406b software. Someone is selling cheap chines interface with FTDI chip reworked on 1.64
