Opel Mokka does not detect engine is running!

1
Hello,

I've got an Opel Mokka that does not detect that the engine is running. If i start the car it fires up, but the starter wil keep on going for another 20 seconds. When the car is running it has no power steering, and is not charging. There ar no error codes shown in the ECU. If i read out data i can see that it states the car is not running even when it is running!

This fault came after the garage did an engine swap. Ive checked all the wiring twice, and can not find something not connected or wrong.

How does the ecu see when the engine is running? What data is it missing?

Hope someone can help me with that.

Give me VIN and I can check at iSolve platform

But first here is description how it works, maybe it helps
I can provide wiring diagrams, parts number, technical service bulletins, part replacement procedures etc.. for Citroen/Opel. No pin code or key cut codes.

Would there be a difference if the replaced engine was not equiped with start stop? (just a thought)

Ive compaired the cranck signal with a good running mokka with the same engine and can't spot any difference.

Here is some comments from iSolve.
Quote:Item = TSB B1BW011NQ0 ( BVM ) B1BW011MQ0 ( BVA ).
Download the corrective softs 96 920 xxx 80 (de-sensitising Pcode).
Reminder, P0340 may not be the cause of the non-starting because the DW10F has a CAMLESS strategy (allowing restarting if the AAC synchronisation signal is absent).

So my guess you need to update software

I've been back at the car again, and the technician pointed out that when you push the start button on this car, it does not go to acc. if you dont push the brake pedal. You have to hold the start button for 5 to 10 scondes before the car goes to ingnition. Also the car was without a charge for a long time before they had time to replace the engine. Start stop module?

Was the original engine wiring loom used or did the engine come with its own loom, if it did then try swapping the loom, another thought is to relearn the clutch pedal switch, if it wont relearn then try relearning the gear neutral switch first.

The engine came with no loom. Most of the sensors came with the engine. It is an automatic when the car runs and I put it in drive the engine will shut off. All the info from the tcm seems to be ok. If I read the measured values of the ecm and then the start stop system it states engine not running (when the engine is) I guess that is why the alternator and the power steering does not work. I’ve relearned the brake switch. Tried to relearn idle speed but it stated engine was not running.

Does the mokka need sps to do a software update of ecm?

Yes the mokka need SPS to do a software update of ecm
