Passat B5.5 BGW 2004 EDC16U31 - Unknown ECU + Wake Up Error via OBD with KessV2

Hello,
I have a Passat B5.5 2004, engine BGW, ECU Bosch EDC16U31. Trying to read it with KessV2 via OBD but no luck.
What I've already checked:

• Battery voltage 13.5-14V (charger connected)
  
• Protocol set manually to BGW/ EDC16U31
  
• ECU communicates via CAN (not K-Line)
  

Symptoms: first I get "Unknown ECU" and then "Wake Up Error".
Worth mentioning that on an Audi A4 B7 with the exact same EDC16U31 it works perfectly via OBD, read/write no issues.
I've read that on Passat B5.5 2004 the gateway / Comfort Control Module might be blocking the CAN bus and preventing Kess from reaching the ECU. Has anyone tried gateway bypass on Passat B5.5 for ECU reading? Does it solve the issue?

The Kess 2 clone is problematic with these ECUs, you don't have MPPS?

I fixed the problem. I had to use K Line. Thanks anyway
