Range Rover Sport L320 from 2010 coding new key using SDD
#1
Hi, I just bought a new key from the dealer which requires coding.

I load up SDD v139, but when I start up the coding a new key function I get the following error message:

"the keyless controller installed on this vehicle is incorrect, please check part number which should be BJ32 or DPLA".

I have no idea what's wrong, since the keyless is working perfecty with my other spare key.

This is a known issue with JLR. Essentially what happened is that the original KVM will not accept programming of new keys for whatever reason. Land Rover has posted a bulletin about this and the fix is to install a new KVM. Google search Land Rover bulletin LTB00540 (version 5 if you can), it will give you the part numbers and details.

BTW: passive entry vehicles have a button on the handle (square, black), non-passive vehicles do not.
