but front menu is still shows old numbers /in bios/

no, for some reason its returned back to original numbers

dmi editor could not change it permanently

Tell me the Model number and S/N showing up. I do not have a CF30 to test but I was however about to change the model number & s/N just using a hex editor not unlike the one you using. It is or was for me very hard to find everything to change and if you mess it up. It will do one of 2 things. Not boot or nothing at all/no change.

DMI tool did not work for me either. But the little, AssetTag tool worked good.

PS, I also found the Panasonic .jp page to be the best source to finding drivers/tools/info
https://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp Don't even bother with there SDK crap. There SDK is garbage.

i have and issue with sim card it is locked for Verizon  and i have no option in bios "optional kit configuration" to unlock
optional kit configuration password = toughkit

no option in bios for it " "optional kit configuration"
DMI-EDIT_Utility to see if it's disabled in bios. Or any of the other tools posted here

Just out of pure curiosity, why would anyone change MAC and/or Serial Number on these laptops? Decode password is extremely helpful, but what about the other stuff?

Laptop cloning ..... I cloned CF-30 with Insite 8 /long time ago/

Why I do it, Just to see if I can... I like to do things that others try to stop you from doing.
Like in a video game I like to find whys to get out of the map... Just to do it.

And yes laptop cloning is very helpful.

PS.
I am also looking at whys to get into the hard drive/ssd's firmware to...

bedoo54 send me a dump of that computer's bios. I will look to see if I can enable it for you.....

Yep, I get it might be useful to clone a laptop and that the tools here let you do it, but I can't understand the reason "why" it's helpful to clone a laptop down to serial numbers and MAC addresses (whereas I tought it was programmed into the NIC and not the bios)

Yes you are correct MAC address located in NIC firmware. By changing BIOS ROM you cannot change MAC address.

So on my CF-C2, I Xor
5b9eb62711796c45c75922d27dbcd85f33cc8e8de9ac44c99f34fa085512b02c0b8c6610c1b31c027716d2a92d3d88d0e3633ef7998af41d4fb1aa4405d8606b
with the String you gave on page 8 and I get
d000100c3000800b900a600bb00c500e2004c00f80021004f000600b000190045004c005c0081000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
There are very little 0x00 and 0x80 I can take out of there until the end and when i enter it into the program it gives me something that doesn't work as the bios password
Am I doing something wrong? Or is it not that simple on the CF-C2?
