hi everyone

i have a 2003 toyota rav4 2.0 petrol engine with 150hp and need to delete a trouble code but i can not make it to read out with kess and ktag because this car is not listed. in the list on kess and ktag there is a RAV4 ACA30 2000VVTi 1AZ-FE but with 147HP listed but in the picture for connection there is another ecu shwon. its not the same that i have. i also try to ID the car over kess which is also not possible.

can somebody tell me how it is possible or what tool i need to make a readout for this ecu?

typical codes for these cars.
there are 2 possible fixes:

1: NEW CAT OEM! aftermarket wont work.

2: use an o2 sensor adapter something similar, let someone make you one or something like this: o2 sensor adapter

I have used these type of adapters on the lower O2 sensors, and they work perfectly. The MOT measured gas is not affected and if the car is okay, then there should be no problem.

So use 2 of these on lower o2 sensors and the problem is solved.

you can pm me if you have troubles with toyotas.

Good luck! and dont overthink Big Grin

You should read this service bulletin. It is basically about P0420 and P0430.

Many times, the O2 sensors are replaced ($$) because of that code and the code does not go away. Then they proceed to replace the cat converter ($$$$) and the code is still there. They finally realize that the ECM calibration needs to be updated.

Sometimes it is the parts, sometimes it is the calibration and sometimes it is both.

hello

thank you for that info but here we come to the point again that if you do not have the right system its not that easy to fix the problem because for me personaly its not worth it buying a special tool for a lot of money for a one time use.

if im not able do delete these 2 codes i let the car go and somebody else can try to fix the problem. other point is that the customer is not willing to put big money on a old car because for them its not worth it
