difference between ddct and winols?

1
can someone explain to me the difference between Detroit diesel calibration tool, and winols?

I get that dct is a calibration file and winols is hex editing, but what can you do more with winols than with dct if you can change every parameter in dtc anyway?

thanks for your help if you can, much appreciated.

any and extra info extremely helpful and I appreciate it a lot!

As you said winols is a advanced hex editing software. Its developed to modify the memory content of the engine control unit on Diesel, Petrol or Hybrid etc. Winols will try to find potential maps in various different size depending on the ecu brand and you have option to label and view them in text, 2d, and 3d options. So if you are good in mechanical engineering and bit of algorithm language then you can use winols to edit any ecu memory freely.

You also have something called Damos, A2L  and Super Mappacks which gives you wide range of labeled data. If you can read a washer machine memory then you could even modify it on winols so what i meant Winols have no limits.

If you need a training we could give you a official training as we are authirsed UK training centre based in London

Thanks very much for the reply, after a bit more research I would be very interested in training. Depending if I'm smart enough to figure it out, lmao. Will do some research and see if it's going to benefit me alot or if ddct is all I should worry about. Appreciate the reply though mate, also, I have pmed you regarding some calibrations, as from researching this topic you seem to be the man to speak with. ?
