question about website

Am I, as a member of this forum supposed to post different programs and other stuff like a lot of people do here? or is it not required ?, because i have seen some posts about some programs that people require some rep for you to access it . Like sharing this for people with 100+rep .Cause i only became a member to have some programs that i need for my job. I understand that some members with rep should have access to more things here as a reward. Now if i want some program that has specified rep and i pm the guy asking if i purchase it of him for money would it be against the rules of this website? Cause i dont have much experience with computers therefore i have no program to share and gain reputation.

  I've been a member here forever (almost 7 years), but I am mostly a lurker.  I understand the mods just don't want to let everyone have free access to the forums without contributing, but at the same time, I don't understand the need to force people to have a certain number of posts or a high rep to give/get things on this forum.  Oh well....

I am relatively new here but from what I've seen, it's up to each individual what they share. Some shares don't require payment or passwords but it is also good to contribute where you can.

There are idiots who report download links & have them shut down. This is often why people don't share to low rep or provide a new link for each person if they do.
If your link is the one reported, resulting in action by the file hosting service, you can get bad rep or banned.
The higher the rep & thanks, the more likely it is that you're trustworthy & will be given protected downloads.

Rep & thanks can also come from providing helping people, providing good information or a solution to a problem.

Completely feel your pain as I'm in a similar situation. I give out lots of thanks and reps hoping maybe someone will send some my way as well.

Been here a long time, and unfortunately don't have a lot of stuff to offer.

When I was new here, people sent me stuff when I asked them. Only 1 guy did not reply, because he wasn't active anymore. And you'll get help as long as you put some effort into solving your problem, like in most other forums
