Hey,

must work on some crazy stuff - guy blow his ST engine and put in now engine of RS, with all parts and also the cable harness, put try driving with tuned ST ECU - what was of course working really bad. Reason was of course the immo - RS ECU was not working.
So, I thought it's easy, change the eeprom from one ECU to the other, start that sh... and go. :geek:
NO! Nothing. No starter, but light in dash like on christmas tree.
So I read out both ECU's with Trasdata - flash and eeprom - AND: the RS file was "empty" - means, no usefull information inside. Read also with Toolbox. Same stuff. ST ECU is perfect.
Only different seems to be the processor, flash looks same.

So, now my questions:
-> anyone tried also the same?
-> can be that something on RS ECU is different and don't let me read all what I need?
Why not installed the RS Ecu also?
Rs ecu is different its also harder to read/write then st ecu
Id use the st ecu or your going to have immob/abs and cluster to get around

if you want to use rs ecu you will need cluster abs ecu and prob gem too

st ecu should run rs as injectors etc are compatible it is different comp ratio
RS ECU will write easy with CMD. Just need a full BDM then tweak and flash with ST protocol.

Depends what you are using for reading the RS ECU?
RS-ECU and ST-ECU are the same.
You can read complete ST-ECU with BDM and copy it
to RS-ECU and it will run.
