Detroit 14L vnt turbo/egr delete - tntruck - 12-13-2017 i am removing the vnt/egr valve from a 14L series 60. Does anyone have any experience doing this? I am wanting to know what to do to remove the egr cooler, what do i do with the oil cooler to water pump transfer tube and the original 14L water pump, can you put a 12.7L water pump on it? I don't think so because of the water pump mounting bolts being in the front passing through the gear case. Thanks RE: Detroit 14L vnt turbo/egr delete - sp33d - 12-13-2017 I don't see why you need to remover the oil cooler. . maybe egr cooler? You can weld it shut or get some freeze plugs to block it off but it looks funny because something is missing there .always better to keep it looking stock . Also on he delete I am pretty sure you get some pm for deletes .. I am no expert but look at the reps to see what people can do . Do assume everybody here know what they are doing .. I have heard of guys using a 45 degree silicone elbow on either end and a straight piece of pipe in the middle. I replace the turbo and leave the egr vavle and cooler. I just install a slug or plug in the hose between the egr tubes at the top front of the head. A lot of the customer just want it cheap as they can get it. I have had coolers leaking then removed the flex and capped the manifold and cooler with plugs also but only if its was leaking. |
