Peterbilt 389 mx-13 changing vin - elpapi - 12-23-2020
i have file from pcm, I was trying to edit and re upload with different vin but i have had no success.
Every time i re-read file with kess it keeps coming back with old vin please see
Old vin: 1XPBDP8X0GD348857
New Vin: 1XPXDP9X9GD323525

Why are you using a file from another truck?

yeah...you can use WinOLS to mod the vin in the .mpc (.bin) and upload it back via KESS and the vin will never change that way. The original vin on the PMCI will remain the same. Maybe with KTAG...don't know to be honest as I have never tried it.

Requires Davie or Ktag but can be done.

yes can be done ktag will clone the whole ecm .....kess wont
the parameters for vin are not read buy kess
now u have to open both ecm's or i can do it with davie! pm me

Vin should be in the eeprom dunno if Kessv2 reads the eeprom, anyway this guy seeks like a miami guy nothing good out of that vin change LOL

I'll have two Peterbilt one is a 386 one is a 579 386 is a 2012 model 579 is like 2017-16 could you program the correct Vin in to those ecms thanks in advance if you could let me know send me WhatsApp or whatever however I can get in touch
