Autel XP400Pro as standalone device, worth it? - jared_g - 03-24-2026

Hello,
anyone uses XP400 Pro as standalone device without Autel tablet?
I'm looking for some standalone programmer to use with a PC, and I have good offer on XP400Pro.
How's the PC software working? Can it add keys to dumps for example as VVDI Prog?
I can go directly with og VVDI PROG but it is bit more expensive, has less adapters in set and does not have a key reader built in.
What else XP400 can do on PC, can it for example generate universal autel keys? Virginize keys? Preprogram keys for FIAT BSI, maybe even write those back with no in car programming? Write VAG keys to dumps?
I have launch tablet with x-prog3 and it works nice, but on pc it only does ecu/tcu clone, and standalone functions on tablet are poor too.
I would like the XP400 to replace my UPA clone which I don't like, and maybe work like Orange5/Carprog etc but without clone hassle.

on pc just compare it to vvdi prog and they are very similar. i have both but as standalone i would go for vvdi
