How to reset 2021 Macan B200049 power steering rack after crash - tuner2000i - 05-06-2026
Hello,
So as the title says, I have a 2021 Macan which was crashed in the front, no airbags deployed.
The front driver wheel was also crashed, bent arms, broken knuckle but somehow the steering rack is untouched. Since the Tie Rod was broken from the knuckle and moving freely, I assume that's what caused the error.
New parts were installed but I can not clear the error B200049 from the power steering module and i get yellow error on the dash with power steering not working. I was able to recalibrate the steering rack but the error would still not go away.
I removed the control module today and it's like new, no water signs, the car has only 50.000 km.
I tried to reset using Launch X431 and VCDS ( I did not find any working security code). I tried ODIS but it does not work for Porsche... I do not have PIWIS unfortunately.
What can I do? How can I clear it? Can I dump the eeprom and write back to it?
The module part code is 95b909144K . I found some files here on the forum, need to check if they are updated enough, but still dont know how to write.
PS: I already checked all the wires, the plugs, the fuses, the ground wire etc.

You need a new rack. You say rack is untouched but car got hit in the wheel. That impact broke the rack. I had many cars like that and always replace the rack.

So short update, the rack was untouched, I took the module out and checked it, everything seemed intact and untouched so I purchased VNCI PT3G clone and installed an Acronis native PIWIS image.
Initially I thought that I need to rewrite the firmware of the module via PIWIS. I did find some 95B909144L and 95B909144K firmware i think here on the forum but it was not necessary. I just launched PIWIS and I was able to clear the code by a simple press of the button. The steering wrack started working fine after ignition off - ignition on
PS: I was even able to see some extra errors which were not visible in Launch X431:
C10F029: Steering torque sensor 1 - signal implausible
C10F029: Steering torque sensor 2 - signal implausible
C10CA00: Steering torque sensor emergency mode active
C10CB00: Steering torque sensor emergency mode not possible
I hope this helps others as I was not able to find much info online specifically for Macan.
