how to make your obd kit work on canter and fuso
on the canter (upto 2006/7....only 3 wires on obd) power obd adaptor from external 12v then connect to the truck.
also connect the negative from 12v to truck as this is used as common line on truck obd and wont work without it.
the 3 wires on the truck are common/earth/ground and ecu (tx/rx) and abs (tx/rx) both ecu and abs use one wire each as the data is both sent and received (duplexed) on the same wire.
so YES you cannot use ANY obd system with this modification

the header is how to make your obd kit work but the conclusion is
you cannot.

do you mean, YES you CAN use ANY obd system or cannot?
now about the pinouts.
you said: the 3 wires on the truck are
1. common/earth/ground
2. ecu (tx/rx)
3. abs (tx/rx)
and external power +12v (very good information, because it is common to assume the obd connector in truck will supply power from pin 16)
could you provide what is the pinouts in obd cable?
e.g
1. common/earth/ground using pin 4, or pin 5 or pin 4 and 5
2. ecu (tx/rx) pin ??
3. abs (tx/rx) pin ??
