Apologies if this has been answered, have spent hours googling and looking through various threads..
I installed the main GDS and updates on a Windows 7 VM a couple of years ago, I think it was working then after a lot of mucking around with the VM.
I just hooked it up to try and tried to diagnose the AC system (2013 DM Santa Fe)... I get the message: "To Use this Menu GDS Needs to be Certified via Internet". I tried running the "GDSCertification_HME.exe" and it asks to connect to the internet... I don't know whether to let it or if it will muck up the VM... I was trying to clone the VM so I could try letting it connect but am really struggling, all sorts of issues with installing necessary windows updates and the tools for VMware trying to get stuff working.
Should I let the packaged "GDSCertification_HME.exe" thing connect to the internet?
Again, really sorry to ask if its an obvious question, I have tried to avoid it but am tearing my hair out!

Do I need to install all updates? or just 2010 and 2017 ? What is difference if I will not install old 2011-2015? it will not work on old cars? or will not program? configure? or what will missing? thanks!
