Smart 453 Can bus missing?

2016 Smart 1.0 petrol auto
driving along fine and then sudden error messages to stop car, reduced power and then dies,
won't restart - 3 bars on dash
scanned car and lots of messages from all units talking about missing or abnormal canbus input
is there a common place for these to go? anywhere to look first? 
doors lock and unlock, just won't start and lots of errors every time you turn ignition on

Look for the can bus connector in the footrest (driver and/ or passenger side), sounds like the connectors are dead or there was water inside. You can not miss the sockets of the connector (the color of the cables are usually yellow and yellow/ white).

 Another possible damage could be the SAM or CGW module. But there I should look for in WIS/ EPC what parts are inside your Smart.
