Hello everyone, I’m asking for some advice. I have this Mercedes G-Class, and there’s always an error with the Distronic radar. I’ve replaced the radar cover with another original one, and I also changed the lens, but nothing has changed. The car functions perfectly under normal use, with no problems or errors. However, when I activate the cruise control and let the Distronic radar work, everything goes fine for a couple of kilometers, and then this issue appears. There’s no dirt, no protection problem, and the cover is intact. I don’t understand what I need to do to make it work. Can you help me?

Remove the cover and drive with the radar exposed to the elements for some km and see if the error comes up. I bought an emblem when I retrofited distronic on my W166, presumably an OEM part which turned out to be aftermarket and throwing the exact fault. Only with the emblem removed I was able to calibrate the radar and after that got an OEM emblem which has beeb working perfectly fine.

Calibrating radars often helps, even though they typically don't exhibit calibration errors. These systems are very sensitive. The entire system should be recalibrated using a calibration tool.

If the car has front damage, replace the Distronic bracket; it's probably bent. There should also be screws for adjusting the bracket position.
