Mercedes EPC & WIS [Discussions/Problems]

424
I have tried three times to install ewa net on my win 7 ultimate laptop, however in all cases I have had to use ewa clean to remove.

My problem is very consistant through all the try's--EWA's java installs without an issue. EWA NET installs without an error message, However my problem starts when I open the admintool--The keys are accepted, but I always have a red light on the aplication server and when I click start server I always get the message that the start of the has failed and I am not able to start EWA NET(admin admin) and fill in the blanks.

Has anyone had a simular experience and what have you done to overcome the failed starting of the application server---thanks for the attentionCheer2Cheer2

Can you confirm that you did turn UAC off, reboot and run the installation with admin rights? The DVD images are good?

Can you post a screenshot of the error message? I had something similar for a while. What helped in my case was to replace a folder within EWA from a previous version. If that's the case I could tell you what folder it was.

Yep, I can confirm that the UAC slider is at the bottom-off---I also went to the developer log and every time I tried to start the server application--the following error was posted:

Local Host-Start Stop_1
com.Snapon.sbs.epc
get RDBConection.special not found

any thoughts!!BeerBeer

Try this:
Open admin tool as admin/preferences/additional functionality. Extra box will open called extended. Go to extended. Mount the EPC or WIS disc & press starting software update. This will reinstall the server.

Thanks, however please remember that my efforts are installing(the a1 disc) EWA NET on a 32bit WIN 7 laptop for the first time and in my case that would mean reinstall of disc b1---I'll give it a try tomarrow!!

Unable to use extended because the admin tool was not installed, therefore installed with the most current release of EWA EPC b1 and via the admin tool tried to start the server, however got the same failed response--"starting of EWA Server failed"--no green server light therefore not able to log on to local host to complete the install.-------It's got be my OS--Oh well

Can you try installing EWA with WIS 10.2015 version instead? EWA version in 10.2015 is higher, so when installing EPC only the database will be installed.

I have the newest WIS that I recently got from this forum but it doesn't include the database for smart cars. How can I add the smart cars database and where do I find it ?
